Change

April 2021

"Change" a short film written by Annie Simon. Fate works in mysterious ways. We must learn to adapt whether we choose to control our destiny or not. I Drew inspiration from Centralia, PA to create a sci-fi/cyberpunk world where two outsiders must seek answers from a mysterious napkin holder that could decide their fate.

Worldbuilding: Design A Tribe: The Unseen

March 2021

The planet Bardonia is a rocky planet with extreme temperatures that can reach anywhere between -103•F and 260•F depending on season and location. The sky is a dark olive color during the day and becomes a duller brown in the afternoon. The sky is filled with a hazy fog that disappears at night when the sky turns a dark crimson. Bardonia is unsuitable for Earth-based life without additional support. The social structure of Bardonia's inhabitants is influenced by knowledge and their lifestyle is like that of the upper class. Not all members of The Unseen are native to Bardonia, but are able to contribute to the efforts of the group that researches and invents by day, and carries out their tasks through the bustling cityscape at night.

Design for Theatre: The Weeping Witch

January 2021

Set in the 1500s, this Opera centers around the character of Madame Melori, The Weeping Witch who is trapped in a fantastical realm of nightmares after the loss of her husband. The Count of the Woodlands has deployed an army of soldiers to hunt Madame Melori but she must face her loss and darkness without destroying her home around her.

This play is a blend of gothic style and fantasy.

In this play specifically, the costumes are designed to be ahead of their time to further illustrate the theme of power and regality.

"Golden Hour" Inspired Butterfly Suit

Kacey.JPG

August 2020

Inspired by the colors and lyrics of "Golden Hour" by Kacey Musgraves, this red carpet look was designed to showcase the power of music. The colored Swarovski crystals in Tangerine, Aqua, and Rose Peach create a gradient inspired by the album artwork. The back of the jacket creates a peplum to continue to the fluttery feeling of the piece.

Masquerade Ghost

September 2020

I loved the idea of using a printed fabric that looks like it could have been ripped off the drapes of an old house. The cobwebs cling to the ghost in a beautiful elegant embellishment and the top of the dress would resemble a pumpkin that splits and bleeds into the skirt of the gown. The bustle materializes behind the ghost in an elegant and swift manor.
